Robotics Engineer

Cyber Surgery is looking to strengthen the Robotics Development Team in charge of developing a Surgical Robot by adding a new member with expertise in PLC programming and robotics’ theory to add new and innovative functionalities into our system. The robot is a key component of the system since it is the one that positions itself into the final screw trajectory and since there are people surrounding it, a robust safety system is necessary to avoid accidents. Currently, Cyber Surgery has a base software developed where endless new functionalities have the possibility to be added to facilitate surgery for surgeons and improve patients’ quality of life through precision, reliability, and safety.


Responsibilities:

    • Algorithm development for robotic arm control, monitoring, and diagnostics according to the quality standards. Integration of subsystems that interact in the robotic assistant.
    • Improve reachability and detect possible collisions between the robot and other elements.
    • Improve parametrization of electromechanical system, by its calibration.
    • Enhanced calculations of the system and trajectories.
    • Proposals for continuous improvement of current software based on experience.
    • Manage software using version control system and its documentation.
    • Drafting test protocols, execution of tests and drafting the report according to quality standards.
    • Statistical analysis of test results using software e.g. Python.
    • Working within the company’s Quality Assurance policies. 
    • Support on robotics and on integration of sensors and actuators into the system inside the team and with other members of the company.
     

    Requirements:

    Must-haves

      • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics or similar with experience in Robotics R&D.
      • Language: fluent in English and Spanish.
      • At least 4 years of experience in PLC and Robot Programming, preferably in TwinCAT.
      • At least 4 years of design and implementation in robotics kinematic models, control and automation.
      • Problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills, team worker, cooperative and proactive attitude.
      Desirable 
      • Robotics modeling and calibration.
      • CI/CD experience.
      • Data analysis knowledge.
      • Medical product development experience.
       

      Previous Knowledge:

        • Theoretical robotics and its implementation.
        • Robotics’ control and automation.
        • Structure text programming.
        • Robotics’ modeling and calibration.
        • Desirable CI/CD.
        • Medical product development experience desirable
